I do not consume a great deal of social media (on a good day… 7 minutes). On a bad day (45 minutes). I understand that many folks (including my wife belong to online communities that they get a lot out of).
I can appreciate this… but… for me, it just doesn’t “feed my mind or my soul” so I kinda stay away.
I started to ask myself – WHY THIS WAS SO – a month or so ago. It’s rattled around in my brain.
Yesterday… THE ANSWER… popped into my head because a friend had asked me a very thoughtful question (on a social media platform). I liked her question a lot. It had value. It had meaning… it was worthwhile…
The answer to why I DON’T LIKE social media is this…
“SOCIAL MEDIA = Clark Griswold’s Fun Old Fashioned Family Christmas and then Cousin Eddie arrives to blow it all up.”
