Two Wolves

TWO WOLVES – by STEVE TRASH – ROCKIN’ ECO HERO

Do you know this old story?

It’s one of my favorites.

If you’ve heard it before, please hum the tune along with me.

The old man is seated outside with his grandson around a campfire.  In the distance, they hear a pack of wolves howling a call of the wild.

The little boy turns to his grandpa and says, “Grandpa, did you hear the wolves down in the valley?”

The grandpa says, “Yes … yes I did.”

He grins and says, “Did you know there are wolves deep in the valley of your heart too?”

The little boy says, “That’s impossible.”

The Grandpa says, “No, no, it’s true.   There are two wolves in everyone’s heart.   These two wolves are constantly battling each other.

The other wolf is good. He’s filled with joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth.”

After a bit, he looks up and asks, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?”

The old man smiles impishly and replies, “Wins what?”

The little boy says, “The battle.  Which wolf wins the battle? The good wolf or the bad wolf?”

The old man answers, “This is a very good question, my son.  The one that wins is the one you feed.”

The wolf that wins … is the one you feed.

Things are crazy weird in the world today, so please remember to feed the good wolf in your heart.

This is the one that will win.
